The community during the development of Towards Albury 2050 set several community carbon emission targets. These include a reduction in carbon emissions by 50% compared to 2017 by 2030 and net zero emissions by 2040.
The purpose of the CSRP is to provide sustainability rebates for AlburyCity residents, not for profits and commercial organisations. The program is designed to encourage the Albury community to transition to a zero emission and climate resilient city, with rebates are available under four themes:
- Renewable Resources – (eg. solar systems, solar batteries).
- Electrification – (eg. induction cooking facilities, electric oven, hot water system).
- Reduction of Carbon Emissions - (eg. Electric Vehicle Charger).
- Energy Efficiency – (eg. LED lighting, insulation, pool pumps).
